OK, I *know* people aren't dogs...but sometimes, there are things that I see in the dogs that, when thinking about people, make me go "Hmmmm..."
When a dog is spayed (ovaries/uterus removed), the dog's daily nutritional needs drop by 20%. If you feed the same amount of food post-spay that you did pre-spay, the dog will gain weight. In order to maintain the dog's pre-surgery weight, the dog must only consume 80% of the amount of food that it ate before the procedure.
BUt the dog is accustomed to eating, say, 4 cups of kibble daily. Like he won't notice if you suddenly drop his rations to 3?
