I had my GB removed 3/22/00 instead of getting pain
relief I was in more pain after my surgery. I went
thru Dr.after Dr., I had test after test with all
coming back "NORMAL". No one mentioned adhesions until
last Dec., but he did not recommend surgery instead he
prescribed anti-depressants & sent me to counseling
for my depression. All that did was make me feel like
I was a nut! It did not help me cope with my pain or
relieve it in any way. I weaned myself off the drugs &
found a surgeon who operated on me 7/29/02. Although
this surgery did not relieve me of my pain it did
confirm that I had adhesions attaching my liver to my
pancreas, colon & intestines. My pain was not
imaginary, the surgery confirmed that I did have
adhesions & I was not a nut! I still have lots of
upper right quadrant pain, it is very debilitating.
I'm still trying to get relief from the pain I live in
every day. I have an apt. with a new pain management
Dr. next week, I hope he can help me. I hope this
helps you with some of the answers you are looking
for.
Take Care,
Rita
