I tried to respond to this several days ago (1/30), but there seems to
have been a problem getting the message through. Anyway. . . .Last
summer, I had what was supposed to be "routine" cataract surgery. I've
known a lot of people who have had this, most considerably older than I.
Usually, it is an outpatient procedure, requiring little to no pain and
a very quick recovery. However, I had had surgery to the same eye when
I was very young, and it seems that I had developed adhesions. The
"routine" stitchless surgery required a great deal longer time, a lot of
pain, four stitches, and a much longer recovery period. I guess the
lesson here is that those of us who form scar tissue easily (and suffer
from it) should probably let our eye surgeons know. There was no
suggestion of treatment; I hope it won't cause any further problems down
the line. Good luck.
