I don't know if this helps anyone, but I had the same kind of thing happen
after my hysterectomy. A huge circle in the middle of my abdomen was numb
for the longest time. My doc said it was normal and would come back and it
did. Actually, I didn't care if the feeling came back in that area because
that's one part that had hurt so much before. The circle grew smaller over
time and eventually I had all feeling back. It did take awhile, I'd say
almost a year it seems. I noticed a "prickly" feeling during this time, but
nothing bothersome, just unusual.

One more thing I forgot to mention...when the feeling starts coming back
into your leg, it will feel like little sparks of electricity and pins
and needles. Just so you know, that's when the nerves are starting to
reconnect and that means the feeling is coming back.
