ovaries

Jessica: my left ovary wasn't causing pain in 1999. I did have a lap in 1988 to see if endo was causing unbearably painful back spasms - it was adhesions pinning the left ovary to the nerve that was spasming. In 1999, the surgery was for endometrial cancer. However, after I was told that my left ovary had been strangled by dense adhesions, I did wonder if my maddeningly regular hot flashes (20-25 minutes around the clock for 8 months) had been due to the irritation of the left ovary from the adhesions. The inability to sleep for 8 months led to me taking the estrogen which led to the cancer which led to the hyst. Of course, no doctor will even come close to admitting that might have been the problem. I did have ARD related pain for years, but more like arthritis pain and if I did my yoga, aspirin did the rest. Can't win, eh? As I say when in a good mood: puberty did not agree with me. Just be careful who does your surgery - my problem now is adhesions because the surgeon let me bleed. Am leaving right now for my consult with Dr. Reich. And thanks for your message about going public - just wish I didn't have a semi-public image to worry about, but the residual trauma from all this has me so depressed that I am ready to do it if it will help me stop wishing I had died on the operating table. Not a good situation to be all alone in the physical world. Even my best friend doesn't understand. Best, karen
