Hi Martha, I was taking hydrocodone for quite awhile but as with Tara this did not help with the pain enough.My gyn sent me to pain management and I was put on methadone.The problem with hydrocodone is that it takes 20 minutes to take effect and only lasts about 2 hours,at least that is how it worked with me. Also there is a potential for liver damage if taken for a long period of time.You might want to discuss this with your Dr. Hope this helps. "FRIENDS THAT STICK TOGETHER" Peggy
