Adhesion Barriers

My last surgery was in Nov. for TAH, appendectomy, and lysis of extensive intestinal and abdominal adhesions. I had a laparotomy 6 months before that for lysis of extensive adhesions and bowel obstructions. I asked my surgeon to use an adhesion barrier this last surgery. I have had 7 abdominal surgeries and will try just about anything that may slow down adhesion formation. My Dr. used 2 sheets of Seprafilm. The only problem I had after surgery was a fever. It has been a yr. and a half since the surgery which is very good for me. I feel that it may have slowed down the scar tissue response, although I continue to suffer from adhesions. When I have surgery again, I will ask for the barrier again. Sherry SMGNWV@aol.com
