Dear Susan.... It is my understanding that medical records can be requested from a persons medical provider or medical center at no charge IF the records are going to be used for a second opinion. I tell people to state that they are requesting to secure thier medical records..( and only SOME records are needed for the Scranton center..) and state that they will be taken to the second opinion by the patient!! In Wisconsin there is NO charge for securing medical redords for a second opinion...maybe Helen can find something on the ins and outs of securing medical records per state, maybe...:-) or call your medical records dept, medical center administration dept and ask that very question..!! :-) I called the administration assistant of a medical center for a women who was charged , as you were, and her money was reimbursed!!!! Just ask and ask and once enforned...ask again, but with a bit more knowledge on the issue of securing medical records!!

Okay, Sue?

Best to you... Bev
