Dr Korell

Hi,

For 15 years I've been having problems. Difficulty breathing, lots of gas, pain and discomfort in my abdomen and because of that I get cold sweat feel cold etc. But I have these problems only when there is pressure on the lower right of my abdomen. But just wearing trousers (I've tried comfort fit, stretch, and what have you) gives enough pressure to start these problems. So I feel bad almost every day. At home when I wear these very light surfing shorts with loose elastic band I feel OK. Only when I sit down e.g. reading a book and let my elbow rest on the right side of my abdomen I get the same trouble.

I have had appendectomy when I was 12. Problems started when I was 20 and are getting slowly worse. Now I am 35. I have had many tests done, including barium contrast X-ray series of small and large intestine. The G.I.'s involved said they couldn't see anyting unusual. A doctor doing a checkup because of some insurance issue suggested it might be adhesions caused by the appendectomy. G.I. said it could be but the only way of knowing for sure is laparoscopy, which he was not very keen on prescribing. Said I had to learn to live with it.

I've read many many messages over the last couple of months. I have seen many thing that were recongnisable to me. But what I have not seen is anyone having this strange external pressure trigger.

I will have an appointment with a surgeon next week. But he is not as far as I know a specialist on the subject of adhesions. I live in the Netherlands. I read your article about Dr. Korell in Duisburg, Germany. This is a 3 hours drive. And maybe the Dutch medical insurance might cover it. Have you got an e-mail address so I could present my case to him.

Thanks very much for your time,

Yours, Marc
