Basically remember it is your body and a good physician will listen and if yours isn't find one that does!!I did find one and it is a man. Some of us were brought up to settle for what the doctors says but we all know now: be assertive, ask questions, get second (*third...)opinions. If a doctor acts like it is "in your head" I would tell him or her to go to therapy themselves (or to their clergy!) Many doctors have forgotten the oath they all took. Also another woman was talking about medications, remember that if you slow the bowels down with pain meds you have to compensate and keep the bowels moving. It is a constant struggle, I am there too. If no doctor has offered Neurontin to help cope with the pain, ask about it. It is not the drug of choice for all but it has helped me. It is not a narcotic, it "tricks" the brain into not receiving the pain message. IT IS NOT for everyone, talk to your doctor. Best of luck to all, Ann >
