I have been sufferring with severe bowel problems since a hysterectomy 4
years ago.The symptoms are consistent with a partial(sometimes total) bowel
obstruction with severe pain bleeding p.r. infection and very abnormally thin
stools which are frequent(in xs.7-8x daily and uncontrollable.I have now been
referred to a surgeon who is planning to do atotal colectomy as he has found
severe proctitis .I do not believe all my symptoms are due to the colitis as
they have been present since the operationand colonoscopies performed at that
time were negative.I have asked for an MRI scan to be done to exclude the
possibility of any adhesions .Is this the right examination? and are there
any other investigative procedures worth performing.(I did suffer with a post
operative bowel obstruction starting on day 6 I HAVE CONTINUED TO SUFFER
SINCE.)
Many thanks for any help
