>>Just a week ago, I had a diagnostic laproscopy to help to determine the extreme pain that I experienced during intercourse. My pain was located exclusively on my right side and the apprehension of intercourse, the act and then the excruciating pain afterward was making my life miserable. I have had this pain for over a year, but within the past 6 months it had gotten much worse. My doctor suggested the diagnostic test and we had also decided that whatever he found, to take care of it during the laproscopy if he could or to do a more extensive abdominal surgery. To make a long story short, he discovered all of the things that he was suspecting...abdominal adhesions (I have had 2 CSecs,2 different hernia repair surgeries, appendectomy and a previous laproscopy), endometriosis and fibroid tumors. I emerged from surgery with a hysterectomy, removal of ovaries and tubes, removal of the previous adhesions and removal of the endometriosis. Obviously it is too soon after surgery to determine if this will eliminate my pain, but I am optimistic. I am recuperating well, not even needing any pain medication except Motrin since my return home and I am going on my second day without even needing Motrin. I hope this was the answer. My thoughts and prayers are with the rest of you who continue to struggle with this awful dilemma. On a side note, my sister has endured YEARS of suffering with chronic back pain and constipation. She has doctored and has been treated with pain medication and laxatives for the constipation. Recently on one of her many trips to the physical therapist, the therapist discovered that doing a "visceral \" massage helped dramatically in my sister's pain and constipation. It was during this massage that the therapist commented on being able to feel the abdominal adhesions. (My sister had a CSec 20 years ago and an emergency hysterectomy 2 months after the CSec). Has anyone experienced similar symptoms....thanks!
