Are laporoscopies preferred as surgery for abdominal adhesions?

My friend is planning on surgery for abdominal adhesions and wants it to
be state of the art surgery. Are laporoscopies (sp?0 the preferred
treatment
Where can I get the best information on this? She does not want to end
up going
through repeated surgeries for adhesions and wants a surgery that will
reduce the likelihood of future adhesions. She is at the end of her
rope.
