Re: Susie- Back & leg Pain

Susie, Just thought I would add, I also get pain in my foot (most times the inside of arch), but no burning. I may get a little numbness from time to time but nothing significant. I guess my muscle is collapsed BUT I did have 2 surgeries on the same hip last year which causes that and due to my continuing pain have not been able to build it up again (if possible).

I don't know if a nerve can come back to normal if it has been compressed for that many years or not..... BUT I do know from letting my Carpal Tunnel go for so many years and only getting the hands operated on after I couldn't hold a pencil anymore that I DO have PERMANENT nerve damage.

As Helen D. said pelvic surgery is a cause of adhesions. Adhesions can cause these problems and did with me in the past, however this time I don't think that is the case and is related to my hip replacement or my back.

Do you have abdominal pains, constipation or any other digestive symptoms?

Good Luck in finding your problem! Jean . . .

Hi, I'm new. I just came to this forum to ask the same question. Except, I have had this so long, it's now in my feet. So anyway, now my feet burn and go numb on me. Also my thigh muscle has collapsed on me once. I thought I had peripheral nerve damage from lupus, but that doesn't seem to be my problem according to the EMG. No lupus either, just the skin disease part.

My last surgery was in 1987. Does anyone know if a nerve has been compressed that long, if it will heal if they remove the adhesions? I'm not sure it's the adhesions, it could've come from the many multiple pelvic surgeries I had.

Thanks!

He finally found it by searching "downward" instead of "upward" and he could not move it......it was bound down by something (most likely adhesions since I had them several times before). Why didn't any of the other GYN's feel this....hmmmm??
