A gloved finger or fingers would work too, in place of the spoon. I used a thermometer on the babies when I babysat and it worked good too....just sticking it in, not digging.

Darn...I should keep at this book-work and you guys keep talking (LOL)! JEAN

Thought for the day: "SMILE" - It confuses people!

Dear Millie:

I do believe I was impacted, so I used 2 enemas, then a soap enema, anything, and once I got it down far enough, like I said, I really did have to get that spoon out. YUK, but it had to be done. Not suggesting this to anyone, but it was stuck and I had no alternative. Gosh, the things we share with one another. I did also bleed from the feces being so hard, and came screaming out of the bathroomt o my husband, I'm bleeding; what ever happens don't let them cut me open, promise me, promise me. He thought I was nuts. Once I calmed down I called a nurse friend and she did say as long as it was bright red I was OK. Whew, what a relief it all was.

Love,

Helen
