Horse research...and mice

Good thinking! I did just a little searching, and, indeed, there is a lot of research that has been done. Now, if they would only do research on...mice? Yes, that too. Here's a URL on a mice study of adhesions that showed nerve fibers growing throughout the adhesions.

Here's from the final paragraph of the study:

On the other hand I've heard there is a lot of research going into equine adhesions. They cause the horses pain which prevents them from performing. My gyn brought this point up then I saw some of the articles. He thought it would be worthwhile to research equine treatment of adhesions as well as research being done.
