Good Morning All! I have to say something in defense of nurses, yes there are a few uncompassionate and ignorant ones out there. I was hospitalized for over 8 months from complications of a lysis of adhesion surgery and the nurses that took care of me were AWESOME...they cared so much for me, they cried with me, laughed with me and held my hand and my body when I needed it. There was one nurse who told me when I asked for some more methadone, "you shouldn't be in pain....adhesions don't hurt, you're just bored"....after a talk with my doctor about that comment, she changed her tune and became on of my most beloved nurses, she learned from my experience and I think will be more compassionate in the future. I wish there was some way to really thank all the nurses that helped me and were there for me through those many months, if it weren't for them and their love and support, I don't know what would have happened.
