House calls here in the US - things of the past unfortunately. I do believe some doctors will visit the elderly that are bed-ridden, but those lying in bed suffering in horrendous pain - absolutely not. It would be absolutely wonderful if we had a system like this, unfortunately, you are lucky to get an emergency appointment in your GP's office, that's why so many of us end up in the ER, and we end up in ther ER because there are so few doctors that are willing to prescribe us pain medication that we need in order to keep the ARD pain under control.
