An exchange that took place on the Discussion Group that could help a lot of people:
"I have been reading a lot of the posts concerning "the new attitude." I have also been one to just go into the doctor's office, just hoping to get some pain medication thrown my way, not wanting to come off as a begging "drug addict". Not any more. "The next doctor I go to see I am going to tell straight out what I go through with daily pain and what it is that I know for a fact helps and what I want and expect from them: Adequate opiate pain medication to relieve my chronic, daily pain!"
John: That's what EVERY pain patient MUST learn to do. You can print out some of the pages here especially the "Dosage Page" and the Addiction vs. Dependence page and give those to the doctor. They need to know that you're not going to take "No" for an answer without firing them on the spot and asking them for at least ONE month's worth of adequate pain medicine to "get you to a doctor willing to do the right thing."
"I've seen many people Graduate from "ASAP U" and go out into the world and fend for themselves, never spending another day in pain because of their new attitudes!

If their own doc won't treat the pain, he can help you find one who will; and with the State Reps sending you the doctors they know about, it won't take long for all members to have the pain control they need.
