stranded air travelers...around the world possibly

We are contacting our local officials and human services departments and
encourage others to do the same...some questions to think about...Are there
any air travelers who are stranded in our cities who are in need of shelter,
food, clothing, transportation, obtaining meds, getting to a physician for
ongoing med problems, wanting a ride to a church, or simply in need of a
friend, etc? Anyone traveling with children who may have special needs or
in need of anything from diapers and formula to entertainment for the
children, highchairs, beds, etc...or even in need of time on a computer to
email loved ones, in need of other children for their children to play with.
Are local Traveler's aid Centers in need of anything... Food Banks? Is
anyone needed to cook meals? Any other human needs? I realize many folks
are flying on a budget and may not have the means for an extended layover.
does anyone know if there are animals at Airports and what their status is?
Is anything needed there? Volunteers...foster homes...food...etc? Does
anyone have an animal that was enroute and need assistance?
Our local hospital allows visitors both adults and children to come into the
hospital to play board games with sick children. This may be a good time to
make a visit...or even to visit the nursing homes...Children's homes...a
lonely homebound person, etc. the stress this tragedy has created touches
all...even those in the hospitals, nursing homes...etc...they may appreciate
a diversion...someone to play cards with, someone to talk to, or simply a
puzzle to concentrate on...If you are unable to get out, maybe you can
contact someone who could deliver old books, puzzles, or games you have to
offer...Every person in this country has something to give to those in need.
Make some phone calls and find out where you are needed. We've offered our
prayers and continue to do so...we've given money and blood, and now we can
give our time and a piece of ourselves to touch another's life.
