Hi Kathleen:

I am on Oxycodone, which I believe is the same drug as oxycontin, just a different formulation - oxycontin is extended release, at least here in Canada, while with oxycodone you have to take the doses closer together.

I had the same side effects when I first started taking them about 5 weeks ago, but I have very few incidents now that I have adjusted to the meds. If I have a really bad pain day and have to take a stronger dose than normal, I do find myself needing a nap, but only while taking the higher dose and usually only when I haven't slept well the night before.

I feel the same way about the pain relief. Nothing else I have tried worked as well as the oxycodone.

Good luck.
