Yes, I would call your family doc and see if they have the results, then ask for a copy of the report. If you are not happy with your visit to the gyn, ask your doctor for a second opinion. A diagnostic lap does not necessarily mean worse pain, especially when done by a good surgeon.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have begged my mom to have the situation "corrected" when I was a kid - when the doctors first started talking about adhesions being a possible result of the original surgery - or better yet, I would have had my doctor do a C-section when I had my daughter - his suggestion, he kept saying he hoped I had to have a section. Twenty-one years later, now I know why.
