1st period after lap

Hello all -
I had a lap on Oct 12th for adhesions (left ovary, sigmoid colon, abdom.
sidewall glued together, plus rt ovary to appendix, cecum and anterior
abdom. wall adhered. Also, a uterine suspension) possibly caused by
infection of some sort, no endo found.
My question is I'm having my 1st period following the lap, and it's
pretty painful. I had 4 days of spotting and now this seems like it's
going to be a normal period, but I am having pretty severe cramps.
I guess I'm just wondering if this is similar to others' experiences? I
had read that the 1st period could be painful following a lap, but this
is a little more than what I had expected....it's centered mainly low
right, and travels down into inner leg and up across hip into low back
on the right - feels like my ovary is throbbing, it comes in waves, sort
of like labor.
Anyway, thanks for any insight/input.
Wishes to all for pain free days....
