Dear Susan:

I was also desparate once myself and found this site that saved my life. I am not sure what state you are from but you mentioned California so I pasted the Southern California Doctors for you. If not, please click on the URL Click here: skiphome.htm. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on compassionate doctors and go to your state. If your state is not listed then you must go to State Rep.'s page and look for your state and fill out the pain form and e-mail it to the rep. for your state. They will try to help you find a doctor in your area. You will need a copy of your medicals and usually a referral. Most doctors will give you a referral as they are happy to get rid of you (so unfortunate, but true). Good luck. Let me know if you need my help in understanding all of this or if you have difficulty in getting a referral or finding a doctor. I also can e-mail the president, Skip, @ American Society for Action on Pain, and he has come to the rescue in finding doctors for me.

In Friendship,

Helen Chalmers
