Dear Chrissie,
Don't worry my little pink friend, as soon as I have confirmation & have been granted the funding from our Federal Government, I will be writing to all of you to see who would like to be involved. The more of us who help get adhesions out into the public arena & stimulate discussion, debate & research the better.
My drive & determination is directly linked to the health and well being of my own four daughters. My 16 yr old is already showing symptoms of endometriosis, and at my last consultation with the Endo specialist in Sydney, he told me there was a 70% chance of me passing it on to them! I am motivated to stop the pain & ignorance surrounding our problems before my own daughter has to walk too far in my shoes.
I know that all of us have our own reasons and burning issues that we want to publicly air... so while we are waiting for details of where & when I will be in the States & Canada, I ask you to start making a few notes about your story. Think about when you first started to have symptoms and think about the doctors initial response to your complaints of pain, heavy bleeding...whatever you personally experienced. Then, when the time is right, we will be able to start working in earnest on a script for the documentary. I am so pleased that everyone wants to help me with this project, all of you help re-affirm my resolution to see this project all the way through. There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but if we all do what we can... writing to politicians in our respective countries, talking about it in womens forums & groups.... eventually word will get out. After all, someone had to start activating for the recognition of breast cancer and all the other now well recognised womens health issues, it is up to us to make Adhesions the same household word that cancer is.
When you are ready, and you want to help, please send your story to me at seslick@ozemail.com and in the subject line of the message please put "My adhesions story", I will then contact you to discuss your participation in this project. Thanks so much for your support Chrissie... we all really miss you and your special angel..... it is always a pleasure to see your cute pink messages on the board .
Love & warm gentle hugs my friend
Jo (Australia)
