Dear Sally,
am not sure you remember Zac's full story, and I don't believe that Evelyn would be accusing her son of that. Zac has had these problems from a very young age and has been through quite an ordeal. I can understand exactly what Evelyn means, it comes from, tiredness, desperation and exasperation. I myself have ask if in fact one of my daughters is simple "lazy" when it comes to school work because I was repeatedly told she didn't have any problems, until last year, FINALLY her English teacher picked up the same thread that I had and something is now being done about it.
Evelyn, I know you have asked for help in this direction before, how is he with peanuts? Did you realise they are an excellent natural laxative? My father also lives with chronic pain and suffers severe constipation from the pain medication he takes. The daily snack of peanuts he eats while watching a sporting game on TV is enough to get things going. If Zac is old enough and you are confident he will chew them properly before allowing (don't want him to choke!) perhaps this might be an answer..... or even natural peanut butter made at your local health food store without any preservatives would work just as well.
Give him a few extra pair of pants in a resealable bag, so that if he has an accident at school, show him how to change himself, keep some wet wipes in a container & show him clean up & then seal the soiled pants in the plastic bag. Wetting pants & staining is really quite common in this age group, and with a few little emergency kits, he should be fine.
By the way Evelyn, the book is coming along quite well, and I will have the Australian Adhesions site up in the next few days.
Cheers hugs, and love
Jo (Australia)
