One thing is that these are the symptoms of colorectal cancer, too. There are some standard tests for these that are not nearly as invasive as surgery. If you have a colonoscopy, then they can see the characteristic narrowing and twisting of the colon that you get with adhesions. They can also biopsy and test any of these spots from the inside. So you can get treatment if the tissue is malignent, or peace of mind if it's not, and without taking any of the risks of exploratory surgery...
