The test you're referring to is a Colon Transit Study. I have had two of these done. One gastro I had gone to didn't even know about this type of test. His answer to me is,"You have a slow colon. I want you to go to a specialist who is a friend of mine. He's in N.Y.C. I sent someone else to him, and he removed a foot of her colon, making her have an easier time of going." I all but RAN out of that office!! Pretty scary. I was told that the colon transit study can show if there is a particular area of the colon which isn't moving things as it should. Those tiny rings would show upon x-ray as congregating more in certain areas, as they won't be moving as they should. Millie.
