Many here are on oxycontin or ms-contin which helps them so much with the adhesion pain. No wonder you are suffering so much because you don't have the adequate pain medication to keep you at a comfortable level. We all have breakthrough pain at times, but the oxycontin or ms-contin works wonders in controlling the pain. Gosh honey, you really need some adequate pain medication here to give you time to think, look around for a good surgeon if you feel you still want to have the surgery and have some relief from the pain.
If your PCP is unwilling to prescribe you any decent pain medication I would certainly look for another one fast!!!! I can't believe he has been letting you suffer like this.
