Dear Caroline, Hello, I have no idea how to answer your question of surgery or pain managment. Perhaps you should see a GOOD adhesions specialist and see what he/she thinks. If you have a laproscopic surgery with the right surgeon there is a very slight risk of further damage, as I'm told.

And you must remember that I nor the rest of the people on the board are not doctors nor can we give medical advice, only our own opinions based on our stories. Have you thoroughly read the adhesions site, http://www.adhesions.org There is a wealth of information on that site.

I'm not against laproscopic surgeries per se, just having one every few months and then the pain keeps coming back anyway. Most of us here on the board have laproscopic surgeries from time to time because we feel like our abdomens are so full of adhesions that we can feel our organs dying (imaginatively speaking).

On the other hand pain control is better than suffering. Right now I'm in the stage of wishing I could get off meds casue I feel tired a lot, but then the pain comes and I would rather take a pill than lay in pain.hour after hour after hour. I'm sorry, I'm not of good cheer today, kind of having a bad day, but we don't let that stop us on this board, we go right ahead and complain and whine. I'm good at it.

Look at all the information, see another doctor, and then make a decision and know that you've done your best so whatever happens, it's right. Don't second guess every decision 25 times, (that's easier said than done). But please do your homework first. That means learning and studying from the adhesions site and listening to what other people have to say. It's all an ongoing process. It doesn't stand still and you can get different advice on different days depending on how much pain we're in. Sorry, I sound like an idiot - hugs, and prayers and love, Sally
