Dear Robin, Are you taking an antidepressant? What's more depressing than chronic pain!! I've been taking an antidepressant ever since September 1976. Amitriptyline (generic of Elavil) sure helped me to be able to sleep through the night without being kept awake by pain. Amitriptyline also helped to lower my pain level so I could function.
