Gas from surgery and constipation

Sorry I hit the wrong key.. Just wanted to add to Karla's comments about lying down after surgery. Getting up and moving around as soon as possible not only helps prevent pnemonia but it also helps your body to get the gas to dissapate faster which will mean less gas pain. Also Ladies stop and think about your being constipated.. Many times when we aren't feeling well, we tend to have no apetite and we eat less. If we eat less we will not produce as much waste material. Therefore we will not have much in the way of bowel movements. We have lower body pain anyway and with nothing to expel we may think not having bowel movements is constipation, when in fact there isn't that much to move! Also I have been told that drinking LOTS of water will help keep the bowel lubricated. Just some thoughts....painfree "huggles" to all.
