Tami:

Neurontin has worked for me. After being on it since February, I'm almost pain free. I suffered from severe pelvic pain for the last two years and terrific mid-cycle pain for the last decade. I have dense adhesions from the belly button down as a result of a myomectomy (large fibroid removed from the uterus) and two C-sections.

I believe neurontin works best for neuropathic pain--nerves entrapped by adhesions. It scrambles the nerves' pain pathways to the brain. Don't ask me how you can tell whether you have that kind of pain, though. I haven't noticed any side effects. I'm also taking Celebrex and desapramine, a tricyclic anti-depressant. This class of anti-depressants has been shown to help with pelvic pain.

Neurontin might be worth a try. After following this board for the last month, it seems that an equal number of women have been helped or not helped by this drug. Search the archives for more info.
