Dear Susan Part of the problem with intergel is that many are allergic to it for some reason. It sounds like an allergic reaction, but I am not sure why it would last so long. I think it is absorbed through the body by 7-10 days, but not sure exactly for the time it takes. I had intergel used on me in Germany, Nov 2000. I did not have any problems at all, but I know some do. Sorry I can't give you more information. Soon more will be having intergel used since it was recently FDA approved. robin
