Hi Jim! Welcome to our sweet, wonderful, caring site!

I've had several surgeries with the co2. (check out our stories on the adhesions quilt on this site) Like I posted to David, get up and walk around. The gas will go to your shoulder, or you back, and even other areas. I found that someone rubbing the area where the gas went to helps a lot. You will feel some discomfort and if so, massage the area. You'll notice your face will be a little bloated, but don't worry, it will come back to normal real soon. My last surgery with the co2 believe it or not didn't bother me too much. The gas ended up on my back on my right shoulder blade. But a little rubbing from the nurses and my husband and me walking around helped out so much. ") Hope this helps Jim. Good luck with your surgery and please let us know how you are doing. Prayers and love coming your way. ~Chrissie (Christine Damon - Epsom, NH on the adhesions quilt)
