I agree totally that morphine and Percocet are addicting and only mask the
pain. For those of us that have no possibility of getting rid of the
adhesions because surgery is not an option and have adhesions that are making
it impossible to move without extreme pain then narcotics maybe the only way
to have even a partly normal life. I checked out all other types of
therapy-including hypnosis, discussed it with my Dr., the pharmacist and a
friend who is a chem/dep counselor. I have been an RN for 27 years as has my
husband and believe me, it is the only thing that will give some of us a life
back. I know that most of us take it very seriously and only as a last
resort but it certainly is worth considering. There is no right way for
everyone. You may have to try many different drugs to find which is best for
you. What ever works the best is the right drug for you.
