There is a simple blood test they can do to check for pancreatitis. It will
show up abnormal for inflammation of the pancreas or a pancreatic cyst-which
is common if you have had previous trouble with your gall bladder. A stone
can block the gall bladder duct leading to the pancreas which causes
pancreatic enzymes to back up and cause a cyst. Also typical of pancreatic
problems is pain that radiates through to the back shoulder blade area.
