Thank you, it was a lovely day, and I miss the beach very much. Shane & I plan to move to the south coast once our girls are finished with schooling etc. If you take a look at my site, you will see why I love the beach so much. (There is even a photo of me around age 2 with my dad inspecting a wooden lifesaver boat at Cronulla, another childhood favourite!).
We live in rural New South Wales, on the Western side of the Great Dividing Range. Bathurst is the oldest inland city in Australia and our population is much smaller than in its hay day during the gold rush in the 1800's. It's at least three and a half hours drive inland from the beaches of Sydney, and I miss the sun, surf and sand very much. I was what we call here a "beach baby" lol, and my parents & grandparents had great difficulty with me when it was time to go home.... I always needed that one extra wave & dunking in the salt water!! LOL
My children have also inherited my love for the beach and it has also rubbed off onto Shane too. We don't plan vacations (things seem to happen to prevent them lol) sooo we are "thinking" about spending time down that way.... sometime over the Christmas holidays. Here in Australia the school year ends in December about a week before Christmas and the new School year starts in the last days of January.
I would love to go to Mexico someday.... I am sure it would be wonderful; I hope you enjoy your trip!
Love & warm gentle hugs, Jo
