Mandy, SSI and SSDI are two disability programs available here in the states. SSDI stands for Social Security Disablity Insurance and SSI stands for Supplemental Security Income. Actually, SSI is not just a disability program. It is a welfare based program for those low income individuals who are either found disabled and meet the financial guidelines or are 65 or over and meet the same financial guidelines. I worked for the Social Security Administration for a number of years and am available to try and answer questions and try to assist people as they apply for disability benefits. While I cannot offer any guarantees, I feel that I can offer them some much needed advice that will help them along the way. Karla

I am new to this website and was wondering what is a SSI and a SSDI.

Sorry for being so stupid but never have these been mentioned to me by Northern Ireland doctors or Consultants.

Thanks Mandy
