Hi Tami,

That is funny about falling asleep with the sucker in your mouth. Goes to show you how tired they can truly make you. I guess I was more prone to becoming addicted then you say you are. Even though I was in true pain for right around three years or so. Once I had my surgery with Dr. Redan and Gerhart in PA and recovered I remained on the suckers and other medication (I tried so many diff. kinds) I never gave myself time to "truly" heal to see if I was getting better. I just kept taking the pain medication. I have learned that it only takes three weeks to become addicted. This is a public website that anyone can read and know all about oneself, but I have to say that I did have to go into a rehab to rid myself of the pain medications a year ago October for 28 days! It was then and only then that I knew I wasn't in pain anymore from the adhesions. But now that I am not on pain meds, I can feel all the twinges, that is what makes me believe that I do have "some" adhesion pain. I was on the suckers for about 5-6 months. I was prescribed 4 per day, as needed for breakthrough pain. I know that there were days I took more than I should have, because I was addicted, and it did help with the pain. They are very potent. IN fact, Fentanyl is almost 100% more potent than morphine is, so please be careful while sucking on the "suckers." And, or course, never drive! But do fall asleep with one in your mouth and have it stick to your hair, pillow, hubby, etc..and have someone take a photo. Now that would be a good laugh.
