Dear Shawna, My Mother & both of my sisters have had open abdominal surgeries & none of them suffer from adhesions. Although I suspect that my older sister has a little pain from adhesions, she is not being treated for them. My adhesions started because of a c-section and worsened with repeat c-sections. Both of my sisters had c-sections. Different kinds of cancer runs in my family. At one point the cancer clinic in Tucson wanted to do a study on us, but they never did. I do worry about my kids for several different medical conditions, but I mostly worry about them getting adhesions. 2 days after I had my hernia repair surgery, our youngest daughter (15) had her apendix out. She & I both worried before the surgery about adhesions, but so far, (knock on wood) she is not having any problems other than it sometimes itches. Thank you for replying to my post love to all robin M
