rectal bleeding after surgery

I had laporoscopy surgery on Wednesday for adhesions. I just had a BM and had bright red blood in the toilet and on the toilet paper. Should I be concerned? I have had this surgery before and an having a lot more pain on my right side than I have after past surgeries. Can this be related to the bleeding? Please help!?!
