Ruth, The use of the harmonic scalpel is just one small part of an adhesiolysis. The real question is how many surgeries are you willing to go through in order to achieve the successful removal of your endometriosis and adhesions? Please research the archives of the adhesion website http://www.adhesions.org . Type in the name Helen Dynda and read through the many knowledgeable posts that she has made. Then take the time to read the quilt. Read my story. What I am saying is that as much as you may like your doctor, he is probably not qualified to do a successful adhesiolysis. Sure, he has probably done tons of them, but how many have been successful in that he got all of the endo and the adhesions never returned. Honestly, I doubt if there have been any. Why? Because there aren't really any surgeons here in this country that can claim success. We had a couple that were having good luck at it, but for some reason even that stopped. It isn't necessarily that they are doing bad jobs, but that something else is needed to deal with preventing adhesions from reforming. Right now hope lies in a product called SprayGel. SprayGel is only in the testing stages here in the United States. It is available in Europe and Australia. Some of our members have gone and had the good fortune of having their adhesions and endo removed and they are now relatively pain free. There are a large number of women planning to go at this time. It is relatively inexpensive when you consider what it would cost here. Personally, I can not go (my story on the quilt will tell all) otherwise I'd have been on a plane when I first learned of the product. It is truly something exciting and there is such a minimal chance of any side effects. The other thing is that Dr. Kruchinski is also using a gasless technique that probably helps alot as well. Something for you to think about. God Bless!
