Update on Shawna French

I talked with Shawna on the phone yesterday afternoon. She's still in a
lot of pain. The doctor increased her Demerol. She also is on a drug
for muscle spasms and she's receiving amino acids and proteins via IV to
prevent malnutrition. She has three IVs! Shawna was being taken for the
upper GI series as I closed our conversation. Because she has multiple
kinks in her bowel, it took four hours for the dye to make its way
through her intestines instead of the usual half hour.
She thanks you all for your support. It means the world to her. I had
a hard time reading her your messages because I was choking up. You're
a wonderful group of people who truly understand what she's enduring.
I'll continue to let you know how she's doing.
