Re: Left Flank Pain

Hi Joyce:

I have right sided flank pain, which gets worse with a b.m. I have adhesions and endo, and I'm pretty sure it's connected to one or the other. I don't think I actually have a knot there, but I do think it might be a bit swollen at times. The pain is definetly "aggravating and persistent" - it surprised me that there was someone else who experienced such similar symptoms.

Now, I hesitated to reply to your message, because to be honest I've had this for quite some time, and I haven't even gone to the Dr about it. I know how stupid that is (noone needs to tell me) but I'm just so disillusioned with the medical care I've received this far that I haven't gone. It is getting worse, and I will go in the new year as it could be kidney stones or something related.

I'm sorry that I don't have any information that would help you out, but perhaps this will explain why I think it's adhesions related...my ascending colon is adhesed to my peritonium on the right. When I have a b.m. it feels as though it's pulling straight through my back to the front of my abdomen and pelvis. Hurts like heck sometimes - makes me moan out loud. The rest of the time it hurts but it's not as severe. Other than flank pain and some urinary urgency/incontinence I don't have symptoms of a UTI or stones. I just turned 40 years old.

Physical activity doesn't seem to make the pain I have worse (as it's pretty constant), but boy having a b.m. sure does! Anyway, at least you know there are others who experience something similar. :o)

Wishing you pain free moments, hours and days. Clare
