Till recently we have been kept quite isolated but with blessing of the Internet, we have found each other and are starting to work towards a set of goals aimed at improving the quality of life for millions. We suffer from disease. We have no access to the rights afforded to all American with disabilities under the Americans With Disabilities act. Endometriosis and or Adhesion Related Disorder (ARD) is what we suffer from. The situation is pandemic. Endometriosis.org has conservatively estimated that 90,000,000 women are affect by endometriosis world wide. More than cancer and AIDS. the impact of post surgical adhesions (ARD)places a burden of well over one billion dollars on our health care system. The economic devastation starts with the family itself. Lots of women end up with Medicaid for insurance and find themselves on welfare due to their inability to hold down a jo! b due to their heath conditions. Women are more susceptible as gynecological procedures have the highest incidents of ARD. We are demanding government research funds that are consummate with the number of people affected. We insist that both these diseases are recognized as diabling conditions so that people can receive Social Security benefits, thus lifting many who suffer out of abject poverty. We are one of the pariahs in the world of medicine. Treating us has no profitably in the world of HMO's. Drug companies should not be relied upon to investigate and research these conditions. The chance for them to recoupe thier investment would be too risky for them. We have been butchered by unnecessary surgeries that were thought to by some doctors to be the definitive cure to our problems. We have been told it is all in our heads, it's part of being a woman, we are drug seekers, hypochondriacs or worse yet we are a law suit waiting to happen. This is unacceptable! The pain is re! al and medical consequence can be devastating resulting in permanent disability and even death. Strict medical guidelines need to be established for the medical community so we are no longer ignored, humiliated or sent away as problem patients, untreated and in chronic pain. We demand an educational campaign as many still live in isolation, undiagnosed and thinking they must be mad. Please read about endometriosis here http://endometriosis.org/ Please read about ARD here http://generalsurgeryinfo.com/gerhart5/index.html Please try to see the years of suffering by reading the stories of intense human suffering on http://www.adhesions.org and http://www.bombobeach.org We are organizing and getting stronger as a group everyday. We are sick and tired of being sick and tired. Please start your rese! arch into this matter. We will be heard and we will not go away. Regards,
