Boy, we hear ya, sister! The first thing that I would do is go back to last week's postings and look for two from Helen Dynda. She put in links to a couple of sites that have all of the various alternatives to hysterectomies for the things that hysterectomies are usually used for.

I would focus very hard on making sure that every other possible treatment is exhausted before consenting to a hysterectomy. Having one is going to make your adhesions worse. The ONLY hope you have of that not happening (and even this is not a sure thing) is to delay the surgery until spray gel is approved in the US (expected in spring-summer 2003) and you can get an expert surgeon to do the surgery and lay down the spray gel.

Every time you have a thought something like, "I can't imagine anything worse than spending the rest of my life using narcotics to function," tell yourself that you are suffering from a lack of imagination! There are surely worse things, as any one of dozens of people here can tell you. Because they don't have to IMAGINE worse things, they LIVE worse things. Much worse things.
