SprayGel is NOT available in the United States - except in clinical trials. In fact, clinical trials are currently being done at Atlanta, GA and also at several locations in the United States. It may take as long as 1-2 years before SprayGel clinical trials will have been completed. Only then will Confluent Surgical be able to present the results of the SprayGel clinical trials to the FDA for their approval. If you are interested in becoming a part of a clinical trial, there are certain requirements. To learn more about clinical trials go to: http://www.womenssurgerygroup.com/

Denise said: "My question is if the Interceed did not work the first time, and my new doc after this surgery used it, what are the chances in another year I will be in excruciating, debillitating pain again?" My guess is that the return of adhesions is a possibility; because none of the current barriers have a very good track record. Also, some ARD people seem to be "set-up" for the formation of adhesions; because only a minority (about 10-15% of surgical patients develop problematic adhesions!!

The most important part of an adhesiolysis surgery is the skill, experience, dedication and patience of the surgeon. The success of an adhesiolysis procedure cannot be predicted - and there are no guarantees that an adhesiolysis procedures will be successful!!

Denise said: "I know that with each surgery there is the chance of further adhesions and scar tissue, but, it has been proven that the adhesions cause severe pain for me that I cannot deal with." There ARE many kinds of pain medications - and only pain specialists have the special training that's needed to prescribe pain medications.

Most people, who suffer from ARD, make the mistake of seeking help for adhesion pain from medical doctors. Unfortunately, what so many sufferers of ARD don't know is: the majority of medical doctors did NOT receive the intensive training needed to adequately prescribe drugs for chronic pain!!!

Some anesthesiologists specialize in the treatment of chronic pain. They have received the intensive training in medical school that's needed for them to prescribe and titrate pain medication - so their patients are receive the right "mix" of pain meds for their individualized pain problems. Pain specialists are also trained in the use of many other pain management therapies.

SprayGel adhesion barrier is showing great promise in the following countries: Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe.

Some ARD people (including myself) have gone to Germany to seek the help of one of the three internationally recognized laparoscopic surgeons. I have been free of adhesion-caused pain since my surgery in January 2002 - with the application of both SprayGel and Intergel.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!! Only you can make the decision and put forth the effort to educate yourself about Adhesion Related Disorder (ARD)!!!
