Dear Mr. Anon:

Welcome to the IAS forum. We are a group of people who have (or have had) problematic adhesions. For your info, we are not doctors, so we cannot give medical advice. Based on our own experience and research we can, however, help you and your wife with questions that you may have regarding adhesions. Please feel free to browse the site. There is an archive attached to the forum, and you can type in any topic for information. For extremely accurate info, use your topic plus "Helen Dynda" and you will find many invaluable posts dealing with your topic.

Now, for your question. The procedure that was done on your wife yesterday is called a lysis of adhesions (some say adhesiolysis). This procedure is often successful, and I pray that in your wife's case that it is. Sometimes the adhesions reform, but please don't worry about that right now. Enjoy the fact that she is relatively adhesion pain free!

As this is a support forum for adhesion sufferers, obviously most of the people who post here are still in pain, and that is why you are getting mixed signals. Once a person is well, they may not post as often as they did before, as they no longer are in need of support. It would have been an ideal place for you and your wife to come to for information and support before her surgery. You are both very welcome here if you have any futher questions or concerns.

Oh, I almost forgot, we LOVE success stories, so please let us know how your wife's recovery goes.

Very best wishes. Clare
