Diagnostic exploratory laparoscopy--what if they find adhesions?

I am scheduling an exploratory to diagnose abdominal pain. This surgeon is not an adhesion specialist. What if he finds adhesions, should I tell him to close me back up or let him lyse them? I don't know what to do. We do suspect an umbilical hernia repair, but maybe adhesions causing pain too. How far should he go if he finds adhesions???? When does it get dangerous?
